RIMS issues guidelines for visitors, patient attendants

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has issued general guidelines for visitors and patient attendants which will come into effect from August 1, 2024 .
According to the new guidelines, only two visitors are allowed at a time during the visiting hours for one patient.
"Visitor Pass" should be collected from the security staff at the entrance and the same should be submitted to the staff before leaving.
For safety and health reasons, visit may be limited when the patient is in isolation.
Children below the age of 12 years will not be allowed as visitors.
However, exceptions may be made for siblings of newborn children.
Children should not be left unattended in the hospital premises and they should be accompanied by an adult.
Only one "Attendant Pass" will be issued for one patient.
The "Attendant Pass" should be collected from the Ward Nursing In-charge on admission and should be submitted to the Nursing In-charge at the time of discharge.
Also, the visiting hours for the months of March to September will be from 3-5pm on working days and 2-5pm on Sundays & Holidays while for October to February visiting hours will be from 2-4pm on working days and 1-4pm on Sundays & Holidays.
