Imphal, December 26 2024: An elderly man was killed after he was knocked down by a truck (water tanker) this afternoon at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal West under City police station.

The deceased victim has been identified as Gangmei Merajao Kabui of Langthabal Khoupum Kabui village.

Gangmei Merajao Kabui was riding a two-wheeler (Activa) when he was knocked down by the truck from behind.

Merajao died on the spot and his body was later taken to RIMS morgue for post mortem.

Police have arrested the driver of the water tanker and the water tanker has also been seized.

Moreover, an FIR has been registered at City police station in connection with the incident.
