The National Institute of Naturopathy, under the.
Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in association with Khongnangthaba University, successfully conducted a two-day Continuing Medical Education programme to educate AYUSH practitioners of North East on current trends on Naturopathy and Yoga.
The programme was held at the auditorium of Khongnangthaba University in Khurai Konsam Leikai, Imphal East from October 18-19, 2024, under the theme, "Recent Trends in Naturopathy and Yoga".
The programme was inaugurated by Prof N Joykumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of Khongnangthaba University on October 18 as the chief guest, said a release issued by the university.
Dr Tazmani Sultana, Medical Officer at NIN, Pune; Narendu Bhattacharya, Director (Academic) of Rajarshi College of Education & Skill, Agartala, Tripura and Dr A Guneshwor Sharma, Director & Dean of Khongnangthaba University attended the inaugural function as presidium members.
During the closing ceremony, a MoU was signed between the institutions in the presence of Dr A Guneshwor Sharma, Kh Jayanta, Chairman of the Kangleipak Foundation Trust, and Prof N Ibotombi, Controller of Examinations at Khongnangthaba University.
Speaking at the event, Dr A Guneshwor Sharma said "With this MoU, not only the people of Manipur but the entire Northeast India will be able to avail the facilities and education of naturopathy and yoga right here at Khongnangthaba University instead of going all the way to Pune".
"This is one move forward in bringing more holistic health practices closer to the people in our region", he added.
