Nambol, September 15 2025: A new Community Radio Station, Radio Ching tarn 88.8 MHz FM, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, was formally launched on Sunday at Nambol Bazar by former Minister Moirangthem Hemanta.

The launching ceremony was attended by eminent personalities including Doordashan Kendra Imphal retd Director Manibabu Likmabam; Remote Sensing retd Director Dr Randhir Singh; DIPR retd Deputy Director Th Shaymo Singh; and Industries Department retd Director Dr Th Nabakishore Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Moirangthem Hemanta highlighted that the new community radio station would play a vital role in strengthening community harmony among the people of the district.

He further stated that it would enhance opportunities in talent hunting, promote sports, and serve as a platform for children to showcase their abilities.

The station, he added, would provide a medium for shared communication, spreading both the joy and the challenges of society.

The initiative aims to offer sustainable solutions to various social issues at the community level, while also promoting culture, identity, and community development.

It will work towards driving social change, amplifying local voices through diverse programmes, and spreading the message of love, unity, and integrity among the communities of Manipur.
