Imphal, September 13 2013 : In a counter insurgency operation launched in and around Kongba, a combined team of CDO/IE, CDO/TBL and a column of 40 AR, Canchipur Post under the supervision of M Rajen Singh, Addl SP (Ops) Imphal East arrested an active member of KCP, Laishram Gunamani Singh alias Guru alias Priyokumar (32) s/o L Rajen Singh of Kongba Laishram Leikai at 7 pm yesterday.

According to a press statement of SP Imphal East, one pistol with mag having three live rounds and a mobile phone were recovered from the arrested person.

On verification, he stated that he joined KCP in 2009 and he came to Kongba on the day of the arrest to extort money from one DFO.

'He further stated that he first joined KYKL in 1999 through one Chalamba of Kongba.

Secondly, he joined PREPAK in 2007 and then KCP.

He kept in touch with the cadres of KYKL and PREPAK.

On further verification, it came to light that he along with one of his friends Jiten from Langol had killed one Reliance Mobile Tower operator at Wangkhei in 2010 as directed by one Lakpa of PREPAK for not complying monetary demand of PREPAK', the press statement read and added, he is presently holding the rank of Chief-of-Army Staff of KCP-MC (Nongdrenkhomba) which is a signatory of SoO.
