AR conducts medical camp, fogging

As part of its humanitarian outreach, Assam Rifles initiated a fogging drive and conducted a medical camp for people stranded at various relief camps in Kakching district.
According to a issued by HQ IGAR (South), to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases due to stagnant water caused by recent floods, Assam Rifles carried out fogging at relief camps including Keirak Sanatombi High School, Keirak Awang Kangjeibung, Waikhong, Sungu, Chapki Moblem, Serou Part-III, Y Thingkhaiphai, Old Age Home near Kha Manipur College, and Phundrei village.
These camps house flood-affected families who are facing increased mosquito breeding due to stagnant water.
The drive mitigated the risks of vector-borne disease and ensured safer living conditions for the flood affected people.
Moreover, a medical camp was also conducted at the Old Age Home IDP Camp in Kakching to provide timely medical aid and raise public health awareness.
AR medical personnel conducted health check-ups, distributed medicines, and gave awareness on hygiene, sanitation & disease prevention.
The medical camp served 80 villagers including elderly citizens, women and children.
