Imphal, August 18 2015:
Asserting that the incident today at Moreh was not against any particular community or the popular movement for implementation of ILPS in the State, the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Moreh has made certain clarifications regarding today's unwarranted incident.
In a statement, information and publicity secretary of KSO, Moreh, Mangminhao Mate said that any move on the part of anyone to impose its will should not be acceptable to the people and KSO at Moreh which is being inhabited by different communities.
As a responsible students' organisation, KSO shares its concern over the prolonged cancellation of classes in Imphal area and requested all concerned to re-look their stand on banning students from attending classes.
It had also appealed to all not to involve school students on such agitation as it caused irreparable damages to the academic career of the students.
As such, the KSO Moreh should not allow any form of disturbances under its watch on issues which have nothing to do with the cause of the students' community.
The KSO said that people of Moreh have already suffered untold miseries due to break down of road connectivity caused by recent landslides along the highway leading to Moreh.
This has already caused enough suffering to the daily wage earners.
As such, any bandh or strike at this juncture is inhumane and against the will and interest of the public.
Agitation in Moreh at this juncture is certainly not in the interest of the people of Moreh and KSO should oppose such move tooth and nail in future too.
