Rotary Club of Imphal observes World Menstrual Hygiene Day

The Rotary Club of Imphal observed 'World Menstrual Hygiene Day' at Poirei Nawakon Children Home for Girls,' Achanbigei, Imphal East district today under the theme 'Together for a Period Friendly World' .
During the programme, Maibam Ranita Devi, Community Health Officer, HWC Awang Wabagai spoke about 'Menstrual hygiene and adolescent girls' while Dr LK Saratchandra spoke on 'Role of young girls for building a healthy nation', according to a statement issued by Dr Sanjib Nepram, president, Rotary Club of Imphal.
Sanitary pads, sweets and eatables were distributed to the 34 girls of the children home.
It is also worth mentioning that four students of the home successfully passed the HSLCE 2024 conducted by BOSEM, Manipur.
Two girls out of them, namely, Leisungbam Chanu Panthoi and Hijam Chanu Aruna studying at Reliance Academy, Luwangsangbam were supported by Manish Jain and Yogesh Jain.
It may be noted that Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) is an essential occasion to raise awareness about the significance of menstrual health and menstrual management.
It aims to break myths/misconception around menstruation and to publicize the positive/inno-vative solutions to address these challenges.
