Imphal, September 25 2013:
In connection with the detection of fungi-like particles in the packaged drinking water bottles manufactured by Reliable Hydrotech, the company today clarified that it might be due to mishandling by shopkeepers.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Reliable Hydrotech Proprietor Khagemba Sanabam said that there was no loophole in the process of packaging and manufacturing of drinking water bottles.
Necessary procedures and guidelines were strictly followed by the company, he said and added that the company also maintains 'reference collections' of all the products supplied to the market.
Khagemba said that 0.001 zone particles and 0.1 to 0.2 PPM are used in the manufacture of packaged drinking water.
However, these particles get exhausted and change into white particles if the bottles are exposed to heat for long, he added.
The bottle which showed white particles was manufactured on June 15, 2013 under Batch No 373 .
It was manufactured to last 10 months, he added.
