Identify the territory, Kuki chief asked

Local bodies of Gwaltabi have demanded the claimed chief of "Gwaltabi Kuki village" Ngamkhai Haokip to clearly identify the territory which falls under the village, including its boundary demarcation.
It is worth noting that a statement issued by Ngamkhai Haokip on May 16 had claimed ownership over the site where the foundation stone of the proposed "Wung Vei Town" was erected in Mahadev.
In a joint statement, Youth Paradise Club Gwaltabi, Meira Paibi Gwaltabi and Village Development Committee, Gwaltabi demanded the present residence and full bio data of the alleged village chief.
Referring to the May 16 statement issued under the letterhead of "Gwaltabi-Kuki Village Authority", the local bodies of Gwaltabi further demanded Ngamkhai Haokip to clarify with the help of a map why "Lhungtin Block, Kangpokpi District" appears in the letterhead.
After violence erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023, the Gwaltabi Meitei village also came under attack.
On May 28, 2023, houses were set ablaze and the villagers were driven out by Kukis, said the joint press statement.
It accused Ngamkhai Haokip of taking advantage of the unfortunate situation and further urged the authority concerned to take up strict measures to stop reckless naming of villages in order to prevent hostility between different communities.
Highlighting the location of Gwaltabi Meitei village, it shared that the village falls under the jurisdiction of SDO, Sawombung Block and comes under 71-Laikot.Thawai Tangkhul is located to its east, Urangpat to the west, Mongnelgang to the south and Khamenlok Gwaltabi Reserve Forest to the north.
