Thoubal, September 15 2025: The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony & Felicitation of Meritorious Students of Manipuri Students in Tripura" was held on Sunday at Tarou Meitei Leikai, Tripura.

The programme was organised by the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura, in collaboration with Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup.

The event was graced by Educationalist Dr Hamom Amiyo Singha as chief guest; Manipur Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura president Ningombam Bira Singha as functional president; while poet Mayengbam Nilamani Singha and Aheibam Rabindra Kumar Singh, along with Asst Professor of NIT Tripura, Dr N Anuradha Devi, attended as guests of honour.

During the function, renowned social activist and writer M Lilamani Singha was presented the Takhel Ratna award.

The MLCF Tripura Lifetime Award was conferred on poet Aheibam Rabindra Kumar Singha; while the Khoisnam Bangabir Young Talent Award was given to emerging Thang-Ta player Tapasjit Singha.

Each award includes a memento, kokyet (turban), shawl, and a cash prize, sponsored by Shriti Sharma, New Delhi and Aheibam Ongbi Pushpita Singha, Pune, Maharashtra.

In the students' category, L Bithi Singha who secured 8th position in the Tripura Board of Secondary Examination in secondary level; and Toksubam Sumana who topped among Manipuri students in Higher Secondary Level, were honoured with the Khaidem Ningol Sagolsem Ongbi Achoubi Devi Ningshing award, carrying a cash award of Rs 5000 each.

Six more students from Jirania Sub-division, who scored above 60% in board examinations were also felicitated with cash awards.

Among others honoured were N Manish, Amateur National Champion in the 48 kg category of K1 Kickboxing held in Kolkata; Th Nesmika, who secured top position in the NERIST Entrance Examination; and Deputy Drug Controller Kanchan Singha, who have brought laurels for the community for her contribution in the medical field.
