Tripura: Meitei girl bags 8th position in Class X exam

Thoubal, June 14 2025: Meitei girl Langonjam Ningol Bithi Singha has secured the 8th position in Tripura's Class X exam 2025 conducted by Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE).

TBSE published the toppers' list nearly a month and a half after the Class X and XII examination results were announced.

Hailing from Baidyardighi Meitei village, Bithi is reportedly the third Meitei person to bag a spot in the top ten position holders list after 46 years.

A student of PM Shri Baidyardighi HS School in Sipahijala district, she scored 482 marks out of 500 (96.4%) getting 98 in Bangla, 94 in English, 96 in Maths, 98 in Science and 96 in Social Science.

She is an only child of Langonjam Bikash Singha and Ningthoujam Ningol Radharani and the granddaughter of noted Nat Sankirtan singer Langonjam Khelendra.

It is worth noting that for the first time Ksh Prasanta Kumar Sinha bagged the 8th position in the matric exam conducted by TBSE in 1976 .

Following this, Leifrakpam Ningol Swapna secured the 6th position in 1979 .
