Imphal, June 01 2025: One Takhellambam Ibochouba (Nongban) has been missing after he fell into Abulok River today.

MLA Heikham Dingo visited the family of 55 year old Ibochouba (Nongban) today and expressed deep shock and sorrow.

He said that Lamsang police and SDRF have been working together to trace and rescue Ibochouba.

Within Sekmai Assembly segment, Lairenkabi, Kanglatongbi Hatikhuwa and Sekmai Parao have been affected by the flood.

61 houses at Kanglatongbi, 166 houses at Sekmai Parao and 39 houses at Lairenkabi have been flooded, he said.

The MLA also provided bamboo, bamboo mats and other necessary materials to repair the breached embankment of Abulok River He said that siltation of river beds and narrowing of the river courses are also contributing to floods.

Dingo appealed to all the people not to encroach upon rivers.

The MLA further inspected several flooded areas as well as the vulnerable embankment of Abulok River at Lai Leirak.
