5th Vishal Mega Mart in State opens at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, May 31 2025: Manipur welcomed the 5th Vishal Mega Mart in the State at Thoibi Memorial Complex, Bishnupur Ward No 6 today.

The affordable "One Stop Shop" was inaugurated by Bishnupur Assembly Constituency MLA Govindas Konthoujam with a ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.

Aside from the Bishnupur AC MLA, the inaugural event was graced by Dr W Gulapi Singh, retired Additional Director Health and Family Welfare; social worker Koijam Tejmani Singh and Mutum Any, proprietor, Vishal Mega Mart.

On the occasion, Govindas Konthoujam stated that the economy of the State has been upended since violence erupted on May 3, 2023.The establishment of Vishal Mega Mart will benefit the people of the district and improve the economic condition of the youths working at the mart, he said.

Speaking in this connection, Any Mutum said that with the opening of the Vishal Mega Mart, residents of Bishnupur do not need to travel to Chingmeirong, Kakwa or Kakching to shop at the mart.

He added that over 70 youths have been provided with gainful employment with the establishment of the mart.

The mart will remain open from 8 am to 7 pm, he added.
