Kohima, January 27 2015:
Nagaland Governor PB Acharya while stating that peace is a pre-requisite for progress of any society, maintained that in order to bring about lasting peace in the State, the ongoing (Naga political) talks between the Government of India and the Naga underground factions have to be brought to an amicable settlement.
Addressing the 66th Republic Day function after unfurling the tricolour at Secretariat Plaza here, the Governor said, "Even as the peace talks continue, the civil society yearns for a peaceful and enabling environment for progress.

Earlier on January 22, Governor PB Acharya had pointed out that the present Government at the Centre has the will and the fortitude to solve the Naga political problem, however, the Nagas must clearly spell out what kind of respectable solution they want.
Addressing the inaugural session of a seminar on 'Nagaland : A Way Forward' organized by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) at the Kenguruse Hall, HQ IGAR (N), Kohima on January 22, the Governor said despite the Centre's cease-fire agreements with the NSCN groups and the Naga people's desire for peaceful solution, no one is spelling out what that solution is.
