Tamenglong, September 27 2025:
The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan (AKA) was formally launched in Tamenglong district today in a special programme organised by the District Administration at Duigailong Community Hall.
Deputy Commissioner, Angshim Dangshawa, who launched the scheme, stressed the importance of empowering village leaders, including chairmen, secretaries, women, youths and church leaders, to take the lead in local development planning.
He urged them to work closely with Adi Saathi Self-Help Group (SHG) members to identify priorities and design initiatives suited to each village's specific needs.
As part of the launch activities, District Master Trainers, in collaboration with ADM Chunglemang Kipgen and resource persons Anil Juyal and other village leaders, conducted a resource-mapping exercise to take stock of local assets and capacities.
This exercise, aimed at informing bottom-up planning, will ensure that future development interventions are rooted in village realities.
The launch of the AKA scheme in Tamenglong district, starting with pilot village Duigailong, marks a significant step towards empowering local leaders and promoting grassroots governance.
The programme will gradually extend its activities to Tamei, Tousem and Tamenglong blocks, strengthening participatory planning across the district.
