Workshop on HPC winds up

The 5-day workshop on "Holistic Progress Card (HPC) for Secondary Stage and Standardization of Question Paper Template" organised by BOSEM wrapped up today at Hotel Imphal in North AOC.
The workshop is an initiative by PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development), NCERT, New Delhi.
It was carried out with the participation of high school and higher secondary school teachers from Government aided as well as private schools.
Addressing the gathering, S Jitelal Sharma, Secretary, BOSEM asserted that the main goal is to create HPCs while taking into account students' character, talents and potential as a whole to ascertain their progress.
Saying that different States follow different formats for the Class X examination, he informed that the objective of NCERT is to make a common format for the exam across the country.
He highlighted the problem of bright students failing to gain admission in good institutions for higher education due to their marks.
In order to solve this issue, he said that the authorities are attempting to create a common platform for the said exam.
Two representatives from PARAKH-NCERT attended the program as resource persons.
The event was graced by Akham Joykumar, Chairman, BOSEM; Dr E Iboyaima, former Associate Professor, Manipur College; Sh Bimolchand, former Joint Director and L Somarjit, former Associate Professor, Imphal College.
