NTEP Senapati distributes 'TB nutritional food baskets'

Senapati, January 19 2023:
National Tuberculosis Elimination programme (NTEP), District TB Centre under District Health Society, Senapati distributed "TB nutritional food baskets" to TB patients at CMO Conference Hall, Senapati.
The distribution programme was conducted as a part of Nikshay Mitra under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Linette Muanching, District TB Officer Senapati stated that the programme was taken up as a part of the Central Governments initiative to eliminate TB by 2025.He continued that the nutritional food baskets are supposed to give awareness to the TB patients that they are required to take such nutritious food during the course of their medication.
He also informed that the food baskets were donated by Karong AC MLA, J Kumo Sha for TB patients under his constituency.
Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, CMO/Director, District Health Society Senapati lauded the Karong AC MLA for his generosity and concern he has for TB patients.
"The Government of India has been trying its best to eliminate TB from the country by working together with the medical department, CSO and village leaders", he added.
He also urged all to come and get themselves checked for TB and to spread awareness about the disease.
Food items including milk, pulse, mustard oil and eggs were distributed to around 33 registered TB patients under Karong AC during the event.
