Imphal, May 13: One UNLF cadre was arrested by Imphal West police commandos from the rented house of one Sorojini Devi of Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak today at about 1 pm.

In a statement, SP of Imphal West said that the arrest was effected following specific inputs.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Thokchom Okendro alias Joy alias Khambaton alias Boby alias Santhoi (32) of nambol kabo Waching Khunou.

Another PREPAK cadre was also arrested today at about 2 pm from Keishampat bus parking, said the SP and identified him as Toijam Jekki Meitei (22) of Yairipok Yambem Mayai Leikai.

One Aircel mobile phone 9856426972 was seized from his possession.

In another incident, one PLA cadre identified as Amarjit alias Bikash (27) s/o Y Brojen of Lamboikhongnang Makhong was apprehended by troops of 12 Maratha LI of 9 sector under Hqs IG AR (S) from his locality on May 11, informed an AR PRO release adding that the individual has been handed over to Lamphel police station.

On the other hand, Imphal East Police Commandos reportedly arrested two PULF cadres from two different places yesterday.

According to a statement issued by SP of Imphal East District Th Radheshyam Singh, the PULF cadre identified as Md Nazimuddin alias Tomba (48) s/i late Md Zamaruddin of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai was arrested from Hatta Minuthong at around 3 pm yesterday.

On verification, Md Nazimuddin disclosed that he joined PULF in 2007 and now working in project department of the outfit.

He also disclosed that he was involved in the kidnapping of Government officials for ransom, the SP said.

The SP further informed that another PULF cadre identified as Md Salim alias Javed (44) s/o Md Kamer Jaman of Khurai Khomidok Mayai Leikai but presenting staying at Kshetri Chandam leikai was arrested from Kshetri Chandam Leikai at around 6.30 pm yesterday.

On verification, Md Salim disclosed that he is an active member of PULF Azad faction and he joined the outfit in January 2000 through one Md Tahir Ali alias Jamin of Hatta Golapati and now working under the command of S/S chief project officer of PULF identified as Miss Sony and was involved in extortion of money from different Government departments, the SP added.
