MoU inked to advance industry aligned education & innovation

Imphal, July 12 2025:
The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur, an Institute of National Importance, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Age Education and Skills Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited, to collaborate on cutting-edge education, research, and skill development aligned with Industry 4.0 goals.
The MoU was signed by Arunkumar Pillai, Director General of NAMTECH, IIT Gandhinagar, and Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit, Registrar, IIIT Manipur under the supervision of Prof Krishnan Baskar, Director, IIIT Manipur.
As per a release issued by IIIT Manipur, the strategic partnership aims to foster joint innovation in areas such as smart manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence, green hydrogen, and sustainable technologies.
The collaboration will also promote co-development of Centres of Excellence, industry-driven curriculum, faculty development programs, and student immersion opportunities.
Under the MoU, IIIT Manipur and NAMTECH (New Age Makers' Institute of Technology, founded by the Foundation) will jointly drive research, offer fellowships, support deep-tech startups, and contribute to national missions like Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India.
The institutions will also explore dual degree programs, innovation bootcamps, and joint policy think tanks to shape the future of technical education in India.
