Imphal, May 11 2009:
The furious storm that blew in the night yesterday has completely razed to the ground a cinema hall at Khumbong Bazar in Imphal West District.
Constructed of wood with bamboo walls, the building of the cinema hall, Symphony which has seat capacity of 300 people has been destroyed in the fury of the storm.
The estimated cost of destruction caused is said to be around Rs 8 lakhs.
Meanwhile, according to All Hamai Development Association, two electric posts at Mandir Kanglatongbi and the houses of Sangamang, Patrick, Khangsiambou and Dichamwibou of Tedlong Colony, Namdilong have been damaged in the last night's storm.
