Mega blood donation, eye and dental camp held

Thoubal, January 11 2025: On the occasion of Emoinu Iratpa Numit, a mega blood donation camp and free eye cum dental with aesthetic camp was held today at the campus of Charangpat High School.

The mega camp was jointly organised by the Indian Red Cross Society Thoubal District Branch in collaboration with the Blood Centre & Transfusion Services, RIMS, Lamphel, Association of Blood Donors, Manipur, Thoubal District Branch, Kanglei Chanura, Scarlet Eye Care, Thoubal, Likla Dental Clinic, Opposite Khangabok New Market and AI Dental & Aesthetic Clinic, Wangjing, Heirok Lamkhai.

Held under the theme "Save more lives, save future with blood", a total of 60 volunteers, comprising both men and women, donated their life-saving blood today.

Additionally, many people received medical consultations for their dental and visual ailments.

During the camp, Okram Jotin, 2nd OC at Thoubal polcie station and member, IRCS, Thoubal Branch was honoured with a simple gift for receiving a PhD in Physical Education and Sports Science.

Donor cards were also distributed to the blood donors.

On the occasion, K Sadananda, secretary, IRCS Thoubal Branch said that the blood donation camp was held in recognition of the demand for blood considering the volatile situation in Manipur.

He extended gratitude to everyone who helped in making the camp a success.

The event was also graced by Narendra Ningombam, Chairman, IRCS State Branch and Dr Ksh Manglem, District Chairman.
