Sharda University holds convocation ceremony

Imphal, October 19 2024: Sharda University was the cynosure of all eyes when it conducted its 8 th Convocation Ceremony recently.

During the event, degrees were awarded to 3511 students, including 2427 undergraduate degrees, 998 postgraduate degrees, and 86 PhD degrees.

Additionally, 4 students were awarded the Chancellor's Gold Medal, 27 postgraduate students received the Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal, and 55 undergraduate students were also honored with the Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal.

Moreover, 22 postgraduate students and 89 undergraduate students were awarded Merit Certificates.

The chief guests at the event were John T Chambers, Chairman CISCO, Founder & CEO, JC2 Ventures; Dr Mukesh Aghi, President & CEO, US-India Strategic Partnerships Forum.

Chancellor PK Gupta and Pro-Chancellor YK Gupta welcomed the distinguished guests with shawls and mementos.

During the ceremony, John T Chambers said, "India has created a favorable environment for tech and innovation-driven firms.

I want to congratulate you all for reaching this incredible milestone.

I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to get here.

Personally, 1 owe much of my success to my parents, who taught me that education is the true means of equality in life.

We are focusing on investing in and mentoring new-age firms that can be built and scaled up".

Dr Mukesh Aghi highlighted the importance of one's roots and said, "Our roots represent our culture, values, and identity.

They keep us grounded, give us strength, and make us feel connected.

Holding on to these roots is essential because they form the foundation upon which we build our future.

When your roots are strong, guided by the right values, and you use your wings wisely, you can write your own success story" .

Chancellor PK Gupta said, "As technological fields evolve, similar changes are being witnessed in the field of education, and it's important to stay updated.

Adopt new ideas, be ready to learn, and always show interest in new areas to expand your knowledge.

The goal of education is not just to earn a degree, but the holistic development of the individual.

Those who have received degrees should work towards taking the country forward".

The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Sibaram Khara, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Parmanand, Registrar Vivek Kumar Gupta, Director of PR Dr Ajit Kumar and various Heads of Departments and Deans from different faculties.
