MEELAL celebrates 3rd anniv of Meetei Mayek in school

Imphal, May 18: The third anniversary of the introduction of Meetei Mayek in the school syllabus of Manipur was celebrated today at Kangla with MEELAL leader Ngaseppam Yumjao as functional president and titular king Sanajaoba as chief guest.

Joint Director of Language Cell, Education (S) Department N Mahavir, MEELAL legal advisor Ng Tomba, National awardee A Tomba Meetei MEELAL vice-president Babulchand meetei and Tomba Mangang, DESAM advisor M Romesh Meetei as guests of honour.

The celebration also featured distribution of prizes to the winners of essay competition in Meetei script held on May 11 .

Moreover, a souvenir titled Ahanba Ningshing Waphong written in Meetei script was also released by Leishemba Sanajaoba.
