Lamka, July 15 2009:
The Indigenous Democratic Front, Churachandpur today said it still sticks to the proposed 12 hour general strike from 17 July and claimed that it fully endorsed and support the decision of IDF executive Council in this regard.
An IDF statement issued today said the proposed strike was a symbol of protest against the Governments apathy towards the malfunctioning of ADC in the tribal areas since the past 20 years.
The IDF according to the statement is dismay at the attitude of the SPF government for its failure to fulfill its promise to conduct the ADC/MDC election on the 18 and 25 of April, 2008 as was promised as the first and second phase.
The front meanwhile accused the State Govt of playing another game to derail the poll process and repeating serious procedural lapses.
It also welcome the various tribal organization that have come up within a few moment to address the same issue but nevertheless felt the pain that these organizations have started to throw spanner in the wheel of the IDF movement instead of focusing on the real issue.
Reiterating that the IDF will fight tooth and nail and resort to different ways and means to achieve the decentralization of power, the statement said it regrets for calling the strike but claimed that it was forced to do so.
