ZU condemns shoot-out between UGs

Imphal, May 11 2009: Zeliangrong Union (Assam Manipur Nagaland) condemned the shoot-out that broke out between KYKL and NSCN (IM) cadres at near Khoupum Dam on May 10 .

Alleging that KYKL cadres abducted Lunganpou (17) s/o late Pouthailung of Gaidimjang part I, Isau (16) s/o Lungongam of Gaidimjang part II and Gaithuisin (16) s/o Poujendai of Gaidimjang part II after the shoot-out, the ZU urged the outfit to release the trio safe to avoid any misunderstanding.

The ZU also urged the insurgent groups of Manipur to avoid using of innocent civilians as human shield and not to operate in the area of dominance to avoid any misunderstanding and untoward incident.

The union further cautioned that it would consider those groups which fail to acknowledge the appeal as perpetrators.
