Crematorium inaugurated

A newly constructed crematorium built at Kekru Mathak Leikai, Yairipok Municipal ward no 9 under Wangkhem Assembly Constituency was inaugurated today.
The crematorium was donated by social worker, Longjam Ibotombi Singh and his wife, Longjam Ongbi Kamala who is the former chairperson of Yairipok Municipal Council.
Besides social worker, Longjam Ibotombi Singh and former chairperson of Yairipok Municipal Council, Longjam Kamala Devi, the inaugural function was attended by former Chairperson of YMC, Thangjam Nokul Meitei, former members of ward no 9, Maibam Seilung, Longjam Rajen (Happy Rajen), members of Kekru Yairi Club, Meira Paibi members of Kekru Mathak along with villagers of Kekru Mathak.
Speaking in this connection, social worker Longjam Ibotombi stated that Kekru Khul which covers only a distance of one and half kilometres has only one crematorium, causing severe inconveniences to the people when any person of the village dies.
Citing the inconvenience of the people, he voluntarily donated the land and the money for construction of the new crematorium in the village, said Ibotombi.
