Senapati district police assists flood victims, many appreciate

Senapati, June 01 2025: Under the Supervision of Superintendent of Police, Senapati and under command of Addl SP-NH Security, the Senapati District Police successfully carried out rescue operations in the district headquarters following incessant rainfall and floods in district headquarter such as in the River colony, Yaopao colony and Viewland.

Sources said that the entire police force was deployed to assist the distressed public, ensuring their safety and well-being in the early hours of May 31, 2025 .

During the operation, non-local families and other local families were rescued by OC, Senapati Police Station, and stated that they are committed to providing aid to those affected by the adverse weather conditions.

All the police stations worked tirelessly to clear multiple mudslides and landslides on all three National highways in the district, ensuring smooth traffic flow.

The Maram-Peren Road NH 129A was completely cut off on May 30, 2025 due to landslides.

District police personnel rescued stranded persons along the route.

Different minor accidents had occurred during this period, and police had provided assistance to accident victims along NH-2.The district Police started to strictly monitor the prices of essential commodities and take legal action against those found hoarding or indulging in price manipulation.

While giving Traffic Advisory as per the advisory of the district administration, Kohima, all Manipur-bound trucks and those heading to Nagaland will be halted at designated locations.

Light motor vehicles are advised to take the BSF Camp-Chakhabama-Kidima-Viswema/Mao gate route.

The district Police expressed their sincere appreciation to all the CSOs, Drivers and owner Associations operating in the district, Red Cross Society and other public who have selflessly volunteered to help the distressed people affected by the natural calamity.

The synergy created by their cooperation has given renewed assurance and hope to the people that whatever the situation is, there are people to give assistance to them.

The Senapati SP urges citizens to remain cautious and cooperate with efforts of police to ensure public safety, assuring them to continue to work tirelessly to maintain order and provide assistance during any challenging period.
