Imphal, May 31 2025:
Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) has informed the public that due to the incessant rain and landslides on the National Highway over the last few days, power supply to the major part of Tamenglong, Noney, Ukhrul, Kamjong and Jiribam districts have been disrupted.
As per a release issued by MSPCL, heavy rain with strong wind have caused electrical faults at various locations.
The 33 KV Yurembam-Noney, Rengpang-Khoupum, Tamenglong-Tousem, Jiribam-Oinamlong, and Jiribam-Shivapulikhan transmission lines are affected.
The 33 KV lines supplied from 132/33 KV Hundung including Kamjong, Phungyar and Nungbi are also affected.
The MSPCL has urged the public to keep away and not to approach or contact the overhead conductors or climb the pole in any manner in order to avoid electric shock and fatal electrocution by the high voltage power lines.
During the restoration period, no power supply will be available to the public.
Moreover, MSPCL has also informed all concerned that the 33/11 KV Ibudhou Marjing Substation is currently under outage due to submersion of the double circuit line supplying power to the substation at the Mongjam area.
As long as the water level remains above the safe limit, power supply to consumers connected to the 33/11 KV Ibudhou Marjing Substation will continue to be affected.
The MSPCL has conveyed regret over the inconvenience caused to the public.
