AISF conference held

The 41st Conference of All India Students' Federation, Manipur State Council held today at Irawat Bhavan resolved to extend unstinted support to the ongoing campaign for re-introduction of inner line permit system in Manipur and staunchly oppose marketisation and commercialization of education among other issues.
The conference held with former Minister N Mangi Singh, who was also a former president of AISF MSC also decided to oppose foreign University Bill and foreign direct investment in education, campaign for effective implementation of Right to Education Act 2009, stop sexual assault on women and girls and pursue free and compulsory education upto Class XII.
In his address to the gathering, N Mangi asserted that AISF is committed to development of human resource.
As an affiliated unit of International Union of Student, the AISF had been campaigning for judicious implementation of various programmes meant for benefiting the student community, said the former Minister while pointing out that AISF played an important role in granting voting right to 18 years old citizens in addition to contributing its mite in Manipur getting Statehood status.
Among others the conference was also attended by AISF MSC president N Sanahal Singh, AIYF MSC president Sh Purnimashi Devi and All Manipur Nupee Marup president S Sorojini.
