Bishnupur, December 26 2024: Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), the District Legal Services Authority, Bishnupur along with Legal Aid Clinic, Toubul jointly organised a one day awareness programme at Toubul in Bishnupur district today.

The awareness programme held on the topic, "Issues of Drug Abuse & De-addiction schemes/policies in the State of Manipur" and NDPS Act, 1985 was attended by Thokchom Ningthemmani, chairperson-Administrative Committee, Toubul Gram Panchayat, Khwairakpam Sanamatum, member-Ngaikhonh Zilla Parishad, Thoudam Shyamsundar, president-Apunba Tengbang Lup, Toubul, Thiyam Tarunibala, president-Women Wing, Apunba Tengbang Lup, David Kamei, Social worker as presidium members.

As part of the programme, Dr Gyaneshwor, Psychiatrist-District Hospital Bishnupur stressed on the topic of "Drug Abuse & its impact", while Angoom Robindro, founder secretary, Re-union Foundation stressed on the topic "De-addiction & its' importance", and Thingbaijam Sudhir, advocate cum Deputy Chief, LADCS Bishnupur stressed on the topic "Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic substances Act, 1985" as resource persons.
