Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024 launched across various districts

Kam/Non/Phz/Spi/Tml/Ukh, September 17 2024: Joining the nation, various districts of the State have participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024 which promotes cleanliness and hygiene under the theme "Swabhav Swachhata Sanskaar Swachhata - Clean personal values and clean cultural practices".

Notably, Swachhata Hi Seva Pledges were administered in the launching programmes across the districts.

KAMJONG

Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kamjong officially launched the fortnight-long 'Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) 2024' mega campaign at Thawai village today at 10:30 am at the village community hall.

The launching program was attended by Rang David Kung, SDO Phungyar Block, Nepolean Rongmei, District Forest Officer, Kamjong, Chamdanlung Rongmei, Executive Engineer, PHED Kamjong and Headman of the Thawai (T) village Wungnaoyung Ngalung.

Speaking on the launching program DC Rangnamei Rang Peter encouraged the villagers to carry forward the habits of cleanliness and make it a way of life at all times.

He also spoke on the importance of 'Swachh Bharat Mission' and urged the villagers to maintain cleanliness of all public places as they observe SHS 2024 till it concludes on October 2 .

The program was followed by mass tree plantation led by the Deputy Commissioner Kamjong District, SDO Phungyar, DFO Kamjong District, EE PHED Kamjong District, Headman of Thawai T village.

The SHS 2024 will culminate with a "Shramdaan" on October 2 on Swachh Bharat Diwas, to honour the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and make "Swachhta" a way of life.

NONEY

Noney ADM Stiff Khapudang on Tuesday launched the SHS 2024 programme at DC Office Complex, Longmai.

A Swachhata Hi Seva pledge led by the ADM was also taken by the gathering.

The main activity of today's launching function consisted of mass scale cleanliness drive in and around the Noney DC Office premises.

PHED Noney spearheaded the campaign as the Nodal Department in the district.

The programme was also attended by ZEO Noney Xavier Longmei, CMO Dr Zianthuilung Kamei, Executive Engineer PHED Thanchui Panmei and DCO (District Cooperative Officer) D Dongaingam.

The campaign will include a variety of programmes like art exhibition/wall painting, marathon, sports league, human chain formations, selfie point, agriculture practice, quizzes, door to door awareness and youth connect in the coming days.

PHERZAWL

The District Administration of Pherzawl launched SHS 2024 campaign at the conference hall of the DC Office today.

ADC/ADM Zosanglur Joute administered Swachhta Pledge to the participants comprising DLOs and other district officials.

As part of the fortnight-long initiative, series of cleanliness activities will be conducted targeting institutions, public health centers and places of worship among others.

Mass cleanliness drives will engage residents to tidy up their surroundings while health check-ups will ensure community well-being.

SENAPATI

The SDOs/BDOs, DLOs and people of Senapati district participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign held at Mini Secretariat Complex and town areas today.

The District Administration, Senapati will strictly monitor proper waste disposal, segregation of waste at source, placement of dustbins, basic sanitation, and littering in compliance with the theme of the campaign.

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, a mass cleanliness drive was carried out at all the offices and institutions premises.

Besides, under ADC, Senapati-Senapati Karong Area Town Committee, Taxi Drivers' Association and shopkeepers also participated in the campaign by cleaning their respective places.

In another programme of SHS 2024, Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivers (Safai Mitra Health Camps) was held at Multipurpose Hall near Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati carried out by Medical Department along with other departments like Forest, Social Welfare, ICDS, CAF&PD, Agriculture, Election and BDO for preventive health checkups and social security coverage.

Altogether 10 stalls were opened for vaccination, screening of NCD and communicable diseases, creation of ABHA ID, enrolment for CMHT/PMJAY and welfare camps and linkage with various welfare schemes.

Twenty-eight first aid kits were also distributed to beneficiaries.

The programme was attended by Adahrii Maheo, CEO, ADC Senapati, Nimmi Azingwungshi Khamrang, ADM Senapati, SDOs, DLOs, their staff and various other CSOs.

TAMENGLONG

Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong Dr L Angshim Dangshawa officially launched the SHS campaign at the DC Office Compound, Mini Secretariat today.

The launch event was attended by district level officials, including Autonomous District Council (ADC), Tamenglong Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kachamthai F Gangmei, MCS and Assistant Commandant (AC) of the Central Reserve Police Force Angambou, PHED Assistant Engineer Premson T Panmei and other DLOs.

Following the launch, Dr Angshim led a cleanliness drive within the DC Office Compound and along the approach road.

The team also visited a developing helipad in the district to assess its cleanliness and environmental impact.

The same campaign was held at the different Government Department offices. UKHRUL
The Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul in collaboration with the Ukhrul Town Baptist Churches under TBCA on Monday organised the "Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS), 2024" campaign at UBC Church, Ukhrul.

As part of the campaign, one day cleanliness drives were carried out from District Hospital to Kharasom Junction, Ukhrul.

The campaign was officially launched by Kajakai Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul by administering of the Swachhata Hi Seva Pledge to all the officers and volunteers of the churches.

The day-long cleanliness drive began from 10 am yesterday with the volunteers cleaning up clogged drains, filling up the pot holes of the town road, tamed bushes and weeds on either side of the highway as well as plastic wrappers and other garbage littering the road side of Ukhrul town.

Hundreds of volunteers from six churches of Ukhrul (Kaziphung, Bumrei, UBC, Viewland, Phungyo, Hunphun, Zingtoze and Ramrum Church) took part in the cleanliness drive.
