With increased cases of Dengue like fever in border town Moreh, blood samples have been collected for laboratory testing to verify the symptoms.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Additional Director of Health, Dr Th Bhubonchandra informed that he himself had led a team to Moreh and collected nine blood samples and the same would be sent for testing at the Vector Control and Research Centre, Puducherry.
Dr Bhubonchandra further informed that a large number of cases with symptoms of Dengue like fever have been detected in Ward no.7 and 9 of the border town and in all 64 people in May, 152 in June and 23 in July have been treated at Moreh Hospital.
Among the patients admitted to the Hospital, 8 of them were confirmed of suffering from Malaria, he added.
Meanwhile, sources from the State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry have conveyed that there were report of Swine fever cases in Imphal East and Churachandpur district last year but this year no report have been received so far.
