Five UG cadres apprehended

Imphal, June 05 2014:
Imphal West District Police Commandos and Women Police Imphal West arrested one active woman member of URF near the LMS Law college, Chingmeirong gate.
The apprehendee has been identifiedas Nongthombam (N) Laishram (O) Minthoi alias Thoi Devi, 30, W/o (L) Laishram Bhagirat Singh, Thambal Khong Laishram Leikai, presently residing at the rented house of RK Chaobi Devi, Wangkhei Akoijam Leirak.
Two mobile phones, eight demand letters signed by s/s Finanace Secretary, Lemba Meitei, were seized from her possession.
On her disclosure, her associate, Elabi Begam, 29, W/o Khairuddin alias Abo, Kiyamgei Heiningkhong, presently residing Kshetri Awang Leikai, was also arrested on the same day.
Meantime, a combined team of Imphal East District Police Commandos and 30 AR along with women police of Imphal East District Police arrested an active member of KCP (KK Nganba) from Khurai.
She has been identified as Irom (N) Khumanthem (O) Ibecha Devi alias Abe alias Meiteingambi, 26, w/o Kh Naobimacha Singh alias Pamel, Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai, presently residing in Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai.
One mobile handset and two SIM cards were recovered from her possession.
A case has been registered at Imphal Poloce Station for further investigation.
Investigation revealed that in December 2013, Ibecha Devi collected four hand grenades from a woman at Thoubal Phoudel.
On the follow up action, one 9mm pistol along with four rounds in the magazine and one chinese hand grenade, which were concealed inside the Tata Magic Van, bearing registration number 4217, were alos seized from Sawombung Bazar.
In another incident, Thoubal district police commandos arrested an active worker of PREPAK (Pro) from Yairipok Lamkhai, near Thoubal Mela ground on June 3 .
The person has been identified as Phurailatpam Sunil Sharma alias Ibohal (42) s/o Basudev of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai Tomjing Makhong.
Investigation had revealed that Sunil had recruited two youths from Thoubal Tomjing Makhong and handed over to PREPAK (Pro) cadres at Namphalong (Myanmar), said a press release issued by Police PRO S Gautam.
A case has been registered Thoubal Police Station and investigation is going on, added the press release.
