DESAM functionaries

A new batch of DESAM functionaries were sworn in at a function held today at Uttra Shanglen, Royal Palace.
Angom Ningthou Angom Amubi, Khwai Lakpa Thokchom Ibungohal, Ahallup Lakpa Chongtham Rajen and Sanglakpa Lourembam Ajit attended the swearing in ceremony as presidium members.
Thokchom Ibungohal administered the oath of office to newly elected DESAM president Moirangthem Angouba, vice president Arambam Thoithoi, secretary general Pukhrambam Premchand and 45 other members.
Newly elected president Moirangthem Angouba said that they would study all the lapses and drawbacks in the present education system before launching a campaign to put the education system on totally different trajectory.
DESAM would also undertake a similar campaign with local people of Government schools located in far off places for improvement of the school education system.
Talking about the recent spate of attacks on people from North East region at Delhi, Angouba decried that no concrete action has been initiated till date apart from constitution of a committee.
Culture, tradition, history and food habits of Northeastern people should be incorporated in the school syllabus of the country, he added.
