Wangoi AC MLA calls for collective efforts for people's welfare sans hindrances

Imphal, January 28 2023: Wangoi Assembly Constituency MLA Khuraijam Loken called for collective efforts to strive for people's welfare rather than posing hindrances in developmental activities.

The MLA was speaking as the chief guest at the 54th foundation celebration cum prize distribution ceremony of annual sports and literary meet of Thambaleima High School, Iramsiphai under Wangoi Assembly Constituency today.

He assured that he will work sincerely for the welfare of the people of Wangoi AC as per the people's wishes to make Wangoi a model constituency in the State.

With regards to frequent political interference while taking up any developmental works in the Constituency, the MLA termed it as really unfortunate and appealed to all concerned to refrain from such acts in the interest of the people.

Further he urged all concerned to take up welfare activities without violating the law and laid rules and regulations.

The MLA went on to state that Thambaleima High School established in 1969 is one of the Government aided schools in Imphal West district which has a large number of students.

He lauded the sincere and dedicated efforts of the teachers and staff of the school for producing students who have won medals and accolades in sports at National level despite issues of shortage of staff and other problems in the school.

The MLA announced that two classrooms will be constructed from his Local Area Development Fund (LADF) and assured to take up all possible measures to upgrade the school to a full fledged Government school.

The programme was also graced by Wangoi Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) K Bimolchand and social worker Laishram Kunjeshwor as the president and guest of honour.

As a part of the programme, the elders of the locality, former members of the school management committee and teachers were honoured with simple gifts.

Also prizes were distributed to the winners of the activities held during sports and literary meets.

On the other hand, a review meeting was convened at the residence of the MLA at Yumnam Huidrom to discuss the status of developmental works taken up in Wangoi AC attended by Government officials and representatives of local bodies.
