Najma Heptulla gives away prizes on R-Day

Imphal, January 27 2017: Governor Dr Najma A Heptulla gave away the first, second and third prize for various categories of competitions of the 68th Republic Day celebrations, today at the 1st Bn MR ground.

The result of the different categories of the competitions are, Uniform contingent : Manipur Jail (1st position); CRPF (2nd Position) and 7MR and 1st IRB (combined 3rd position), NCC groups, Sainik School-A (1st position); NCC Sr Air Wing ( 2nd position) and NCC Jr Air Wing (3rd position), School contingents : TG Higher Sec.

School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Andro (combined 1st position); Andro Govt.High School, National Sports Academy Boys and Ibotonsana Hr Sec School (combined 2nd position) and Nambol Hr Sec School, Ram Lal Paul Higher Sec School and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Mayang Imphal (combined 3rd position);

College contingents : GP Women's College (1st position), DM College of Arts ( 2nd position) and Imphal College (3rd position); .

Band parties : 9 IR(Mahila) Bn.

Band (1st position), Fire Service Band (2nd position) and MPCT and 2nd IRB Combined and All Manipur Band Party Association-B ( combined 3rd position); Tableaux display : Directorate of Information and public Relations (1st position), Chief Electoral Office ( 2nd position) and Tourism Department ( 3rd position ) .

Gate construction : MACS (1st position), Commerce Industry Department ( 2nd position ) and Forest Department (3rd position ) .

Cultural troupes : Maring Cultural Troupe, Sandang Senba, Kangpokpi (1st position), Manipur Public Music and Dance Centre, Patsoi-I Imphal West (2nd position) and Amuyaima Nat Sankritan, Thoubal (3rd position) .

Special prizes were also handed over to the Chief Engineer (PWD), Manipur; the Chief Engineer (PHED); the Chief Engineer (IFCD); the Managing Director (MSPDCL), Manipur; Mamta Wahengbam, SP, CID/ technical; the secretary, All Manipur Band Parties Association; CMO, Imphal West; .

Ex-Servicemen : ICDS (Anganwadi ) Social Welfare Department; Differently Abled Persons contingent; Manipur Dog Squad and Th Sarat Sharma, Deputy Director (Publication) DIPR who has been compering the Republic Day Celebration since 1981 .

As a mark of honour, the chief guest also gifted red blankets to 13 headmen of Tamenglong (2); Senapati (2); Kangpokpi (2); Churachandpur (2); Kamjong ( 2); Noney (1) and Chandel district (2) .

Folk dance competition : Star Musical Centre Khurai, Imphal East District; Tribal Cultural Research Centre, Tamenglong district got first and second position respectively and Chingu Thangjing Women Cultural Association, Moirang Bishnupur district and Young Mizo Association Lamka branch got combined third position.

CM O Ibobi, Deputy CM, Gaikhangam, his council of Ministers, officials both from civil and police attended the programme.
