Imphal, December 26 2024:
The Indigenous Mothers Association Haomee (IMAH) has sought the ChiefMinister's intervention to facilitate distribution of pending NFSA rice for beneficiaries in three indigenous villages of Kangpokpi.
A press release issued by Dr Sanatampha Rajkumari, president, IMAH stated that the villages of Laikot Kom and Phaijol Kharam under Lhungtin sub-division have been deprived of NFSA rice since October 2020 .
While Laikot Kom has 40 household beneficiaries, Phaijol Kharam has 42 with Twinchin village as its FPS centre, said the press note.
In the third village of Purum Khullen, PDS rice has not been distributed since July 2023 .
Claiming that one Mangcha Touthang was the agent of Purum Khullen village, IMAH stated that the agent collected the ration cards of the beneficiaries on the pretext of renewing them.
Even though IMAH submitted a request in this connection to CAF & PD Minister L Susindro Meitei along with all necessary documents on October 9, 2024, the Association did not receive any positive feedback.
Thus IMAH has appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to facilitate swift release of all pending NFSA rice to the beneficiaries of the three villages.
