Meritorious students of Thangmeiband AC feted

Despite conflicts and the prevailing unrest, efforts should be invested in producing good students to build a better future, said Khumukcham Joykisan, MLA, Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency.
He made the remark during the 12th & 13th TAKDO Meritorious Award Ceremony for Class X and XII students held at Khoyathong Multipurpose Hall organised by Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) today.
The distribution of the 12th TAKDO Meritorious Award 2024 was held in the morning while the 13th TAKDO Meritorious Award 2025 was conducted in the afternoon.
Speaking as the chief guest, Kh Joykisan stressed on the importance of producing well-rounded students for the well-being of future society.

Everyone should receive the light of education, he said.
The MLA also lauded the initiatives undertaken by TAKDO for the welfare of students in Thangmeiband AC while adding that many students who have received the TAKDO Meritorious Award have gone on to become notable members of society.
Stating that steps are underway to upgrade the Government schools under the Constituency, he added that a residential school is under construction at Laijing Ningthou.
Ten out of ten students who appeared in the HSLC Exam 2025 from Thangmeiband Khoyathong Tombisana School cleared the exam.
Seven students passed the exam in the first division while the remaining three passed in the second division, he added.
The morning session of the award distribution was graced by Kh Nobokumar, president, TAKDO; Th Purnachandra, Corporator, IMC Ward No 2; Lanjaigai Kamei, president, BJP ST Morcha Manipur; Sheo Prasad Prajapati, vice president, Hindustan Samaj; Rajiv Dev, secretary, Devalaya Committee and Naorem Radhamani, advisor TAKDO.
The afternoon session was attended by M Rajendro, president, BJP Thangmeiband Mandal; retd, IPS Gonglin Faumei; Bjjoy Patni, president, Shri Marwari Dharamshala; Manmeet Singh Arora, executive member, Punjabi Samaj and Maibam Inakhunbi, advisor, TAKDO among others.
