Thoubal, June 14 2025:
People for Animals Manipur, Social Reformation Union Thoubal and Social Service and Welfare Association Thoubal jointly organised a candlelight vigil to condole the deaths of Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson in the tragic Air India plane crash on Thursday.
The London bound flight crashed shortly after takeoff at Ahmedabad, taking the lives of everyone onboard the plane except one lone survivor.
Students from Fancier Higher Secondary School, Thoubal; Vision Creative School of Science, Thoubal; MM Rent, Thoubal Wangmataba Sorok Makha and Nimaichand and Keinya High School took part in the vigil held at Thoubal Municipal Council ground located at Thoubal Wangmataba.
The solemn gathering paid tributes to the two young souls lost in the tragedy.
In a symbolic gesture, two light beams of different colours were projected into the sky representing Nganthoi and Lamnunthem.
At one point, the two beams collided to signify that the two young girls were united in heaven.
The gathering observed a 2-minute silence and offered prayers for Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma and Lamnunthem Singson to rest in peace in heavenly abode.
May their union in heaven bring peace and ignite the idea of peaceful coexistence in Manipur, conveyed the organisers of the candlelight vigil.
