Village sensitization programme held

Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Akademy organised the inaugural function of Village Sensitization Programme With Satsanga and Sankirtan at the Academy's premises today.
According to a statement from L Mani Goura Sangeet Akademy, the function was attended by Thingujam Irabot Singh, president Wangkhem Youth Club and Kakchingtabam Hemchandra Sharma Laishram, secretary, Paona Memorial Arts and Rural Development Services, Thoubal wangkhem as chief guest and president of the function respectively.
L Bijoykumar Singh, National Awardee addressed the gathering as a resource person and shared that the topic of Village Sensitization needs to be discussed because a difference in the religious rituals carried out across different villages will have a negative impact on the economy.
He further rued that people do not take out even 10 minutes from their day to think about such topics that could have long term repercussions.
Th Irabot lauded the Akademy for conducting the programme and added that the people of the village will benefit from the knowledge gained throughout the programme.
Function president K hemchandra also spoke highly of the programme and deemed it essential in the progress of the Meitei community.
It may be noted that for the last 5 years, the Akademy had also conducted a touring program on the theme of "Satsanga and Sankirtan and gradual decline of Dharma" across 67 villages.
