College of Nursing, RIMS holds lamp lighting & oath taking ceremony

The Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the BSc Nursing students (Batch 2025-26) of the College of Nursing, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal was held today with solemnity and grace at Jubilee Hall, RIMS.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the ceremony marked the initiation of the newly admitted students into the noble profession dedicated to the service of humanity.
The ceremony was graced by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, 'Director, RIMS, Imphal; Prof A Debajani Devi, Principal, College of Nursing; Prof M Premjit Singh, Registrar, Manipur University; Prof L Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), RIMS; and N Ibemhal Devi, Chief Nursing Officer, RIMS Hospital, as presidium members.
The event commenced with the lighting of the inaugural lamp by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, symbolizing knowledge, compassion, and service.
Led by Prof A Debajani Devi, the students took the Florence Nightingale Pledge, affirming their commitment to integrity, empathy, and professional excellence.
The ceremonial lamp lighting reflected Florence Nightingale's enduring legacy of light, hope, and healing.
In his address, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma emphasized the significance of the ceremony as a milestone in the students' journey into the nursing profession.
He highlighted the vital role of nurses in healthcare and lauded Manipur's contribution of skilled nurses serving across India and abroad.
He also urged students to uphold ethics, empathy, and resilience while wishing them success in their mission to serve humanity.
The programme was attended by the Deputy Director (Admn), Chief Accounts Officer-cum-Financial Advisor, Heads of Departments, faculty members, nursing officials, and staff of RIMS, Imphal.
