The capping and oath taking ceremony of the 8th batch of female health workers (FHWs) of Manipur Nursing Institute at Tentha was held today at the auditorium of the Institute.
MLA Landhoni Devi and MLA Hemanta were respectively chief guest and fucntional president of the ceremony which was also attended by Director of Health Services Dr W Motilal, Chairperson of Manipur Women Development Corporation Limited AK Mirabai, MLA K Meghachandra, Chief Medical Officer of Thoubal District Hospital Dr N Achouba Singh and Dr Y Manichandra Singh of Thoubal District Hospital as guests of honour.
Capping the students who have completed the course of Female Health Workers as the 8th batch of the Institute by it principal and administering of oath while holding lighted candles were the main highlights of the ceremony.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, MLA Landhoni observed the necessity of nurses and their services has been on the rise in Manipur and nurses have a significant role to play in ensuring health services to all the people.
In his presidential address, MLA Hemanta announced that GNM courses would also be started from the next academic session in the Institute which is currently offering only course on FHWs.
