MLA Susindro vows flood relief; 8 houses to be rebuilt

Imphal, June 07 2025: Khurai A/C MLA L Susindro Meitei has assured reconstruction of eight houses swept away by the recent flood caused by a breach in the Imphal River embankment at Khurai Heikrumakhong.

Imphal East district was the worst affected with, 39 of the 43 polling stations in Khurai assembly constituency experiencing inundation.

The deluge, which resulted from a breach in Imphal River embankment, damaged several homes, sweeping away eight houses entirely.

Khurai A/C MLA L Susindro Meitei on Saturday in-spected the flood affected areas and assured the homeowners of the eight houses swept away by the flood that reconstruction efforts would commence on Sunday.

In light of the vacant land left behind after the flood, the MLA instructed the affected residents to demarcate their respective land plots.

The eight homeowners whose houses are to be rebuilt are scheduled to meet the MLA on Saturday evening.

After initially providing relief items to 10,000 households affected by the flood, the MLA extended aid to an additional 2,000 households in a second round of assistance.
