UDYAM registration drive held at Phungcham village

A one-day Udyam registration drive-cum-awareness programme was successful conducted for the villagers of Phungcham at the village community hall, with the objective of promoting rural entrepreneurship and creating awareness on the benefits of Udyam registration among aspiring business individuals.
The programme was attended by the headman of Phungcham village, Tuireising Horam, as the chief guest.
In his address, he urged participants to make the most of the opportunity by gaining knowledge from the expert team, which is extending special support to entrepreneurs under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) initiatives of the Government.
He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for uplifting rural communities through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Functional President Themreiyo T Awungshi, who is the General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) Ukhrul and Kamjong, spoke on the advantages and privileges of Udyarn registration under RAMP and MSME schemes.
He highlighted that both the Central and State Governments are providing extensive support to entrepreneurs through MSME initiatives by ensuring assistance under well-defined standard operating procedures for each scheme.
He further noted that Udyam registration plays a vital role in fostering sustainable economic development, encouraging industrial growth, and strengthening the MSME sector.
Elaborating on the multiple benefits of obtaining a Udyam certificate in collaboration with the DIC office, he urged participants to cooperate and coordinate with the department to avail maximum benefits under RAMP and MSME schemes.
During the technical session, more than 50 individuals were successfully registered on the UDYAM portal.
The programme was organised under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme with the aim of encouraging sustainable business development and empowering local entrepreneurs in the district.
