AMMSA hosts 5th Freshers' Meet

The All Manipur Medical Students' Association (AMMSA) on Sunday hosted the 45 th Freshers' Meet to welcome the newly admitted MBBS students of the 2024 batch at IMA Hall, Lamphel.
As per a release issued by AMMSA, the event marked an important milestone in the lives of future medical professionals.
The programme was graced by several eminent personalities from the medical and healthcare sectors, including Dr Dhabali Thangjam, Chairman & Managing Director, BABINA Healthcare and Hospitality Industries Pvt Ltd; Dr Sinam Rajendra Singh, former HOD, Department of Urology, RIMS; Dr Nepram Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent RIMS Hospital; Dr RK Lenin Singh, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, RIMS & staff advisor, AMMSA; and Laipubam Rahul Sharma, president AMMSA.
During the event, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of holistic development during medical education.
They also encouraged the freshers to engage not only in academic excellence but also to cultivate empathy, effective communication, and a sense of social responsibility.
Dr Sinam Rajendra Singh addressed the values of discipline, compassion, and lifelong learning in the medical profession.
Dr Dhabali Thangjam shared insights from his journey in the healthcare industry and inspired students to think beyond conventional roles in medicine.
Dr Nepram Sanjib Singh stressed on the importance of hospital ethics, patient care, and the evolving role of young doctors in improving the healthcare system.
Dr RK Lenin Singh reiterated how AMMSA plays a vital role in shaping not only the academic but also the emotional and ethical growth of RIMS students.
Laipubam Rahul Sharma highlighted the association's vision to groom students in interpersonal relationships, leadership, and real-world patient communication skills.
The event also included interactive sessions, cultural performances, and group activities aimed at building mutual trust among the new students.
The meet served as a vibrant platform for interaction between the freshers and seniors, helping bridge gaps and foster mentorship.
