IDPs protest Gwaltabi incident

Imphal, May 26 2025:
Strongly condemning the Gwaltabi incident, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) staying at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief camp staged a sit-in protest at the camp on Monday under the aegis of Meetei Council Moreh.
During the sit-in, the protestors held placards demanding the Governor's apology, and resignation of the chief secretary, DGP and security advisor.
The IDPs condemned the actions of the central and state forces and called for strict action against all those responsible.
Speaking on the sidelines, Meetei Council Moreh president Mayanglambam Thoiba urged for helping the IDPs of Moreh return to their homes at the earliest.
He denounced the Governor and CS with regard to the state's situation, while strongly condemning the Gwaltabi incident.
He raised suspicions that the incident was intentional, to further escalate the conflict in the state, while demanding the Governor to clarify who gave the order to the central forces.
He also demanded strict punishment of all those involved.
