Imphal, May 18: Six cadres belonging to different underground outfits have been apprehended by Imphal East commandos from different places in the last few days, informed a release issued by SP Imphal East Th Radheshyam.

While one PREPAK cadre was arrested from Chingmeirong Khunou Lampak bus terminal at about 1 pm of May 16, two PULF cadres were pulled up from Lamlong Bazar at about 4.20 pm of the same day.

The PREPAK cadre is identified Takhelambam Lokhon alias Nanao (23) s/o T Manglemjao of Santrok Makha Leikai.

The two PULF activists are Nongmaithem Leirenjao alias Naba (52) s/o N Mangi of Kakching Khulen Part-III, staying at Moirangkampu Awang Leikai and his wife Nongmaithem ongbi Romashakhi alias Nirmala (47).One demand letter of PULF addressed to Director MACS was also recovered from their possession.

Further, another woman PULF activist identified as RK Nandarani (41) w/o late RK Jemson of Thoubal Mela Ground was pulled up from Palace Gate near AIR Imphal at about 2 pm yesterday along with several identity cards of different SHGs.

In another incident, two women activists of the KCP were arrested from Kangla at about 4 pm yesterday.

They are identified as Aguilu Kamei (37) w/o Pousarung Kamei of Keikhu Kabui and Laishram Sanajanbi alias Hoinu alias Tharongangbi alias Thoibi (27) w/o late L Ibungobi of Kongba Laishram Leikai, added the release.

On the other hand, Imphal West commandos arrested one PREPAK activist from his home at about 4.30 am yesterday.

According to a release issued by SP Imphal West L Kailun, the PREPAK cadre is identified as Heikrujam Mahadeba alias Regan (29) s/o H Ibohal of Khoyathong Polem Leikai.

Meanwhile, a press release issued by PRO of Hqs IG AR (S) informed that a PLA cadre identified as Laishram Priyobrata alias Butameno (30) s/o Laishram Rupendra of Chairel was apprehended from his locality by troops of 21 and 23 AR today.

The individual has been handed over to Kakching police station, it added.
