MLA Radheshyam hopeful of popular Govt soon

Kakching, June 07 2025: Hiyanglam MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam has stated that preparations are underway to form a popular government very soon in line with the wishes of the people of the state.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a new school building of Elangkhanpok-pi Government Aided High School on Saturday.

The building was constructed under the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) Fund.

Emphasising the importance of equal education for all in building an equal and developed society, Dr Radheshyam said that the new school block comprises five rooms, of which four were built under MLALAD Fund and one by the school's management committee.

He further announced that required furniture and other necessary facilities will be provided soon.

The MLA lauded the school's teachers for continuing their duties regardless of salary issues and expressed confidence that they would continue to produce meritorious students.

He said that education plays a vital role in maintaining communal harmony in the state and added that development works across sectors have been hindered due to the ongoing crisis over the past two years.

Observing that peace and normalcy have not yet returned to the state, despite the Manipur Legislative Assembly being kept in suspended animation and President's Rule being imposed, he expressed optimism that a popular government would be formed very soon in accordance with public aspirations.

Once the new government is formed, development works will resume, particularly in the education, health and road connectivity sectors, he assured.

Dr Radheshyam also informed that steps have been taken to strengthen the embankments of the Manipur River, which runs across his constituency, to prevent flooding.

He added that preparations are also in place to plug any breaches in the future.
