Manipur Hills and Plain Contractors Association served an ultimatum to the State Government that they would go for a cease work strike and legal recourses if the Government does not fulfill their demands.
The ultimatum submitted to the Public Works Department Minister urged the Government to clear the pending State plan/non-plan liabilities of the contractors at the earliest.
Conveying that there was no open tender for the past 10 years, the ultimatum also exhorted to conduct open tender for all contract works.
The ultimatum also pressed to stop 10 percent deduction by the cheque drawal authority and engineers deduction.
Asserting outsiders' entry at the PWD complex causes hindrance to the contract related works, the ultimatum also demanded to strictly adhere the Chief Engineer's order that does not allow visitors' entry except bewteen 1 pm and 3 pm on Monday and Wednesday.
